Gatsby had to go back to war and he had trouble coming back and Daisy couldn’t wait anymore and married Tom. Gatsby then went to Louisville to go find Daisy and she was gone on her honeymoon. After the end of Gatsby’s story he told his servant not to empty the pool because he wanted to go swimming with Nick but Nick said no and went to catch the train to work. While Nick was at work Jordan calls and the conversation didn’t last long and Nick hung up. Catherine doesn’t believe that Myrtle had a lover and believe Myrtle was happy and loved her husband. Michaelis then had to stay with Wilson because he was sad about his wife’s death. Wilson then figured out who killed his wife and left right after Michaelis did. Journal chapter 9
Nick was left with Gatsby’s Body and put together the funeral. No one wanted to come to the funeral and Daisy had left town. Nick doesn’t know any of Gatsby’s family but he receives a call from his father and shows up a few days later. Police come in to Gatsby’s house and Nick then goes to convince Wolfsheim to come to Gatsby’s funeral, but he says he doesn’t like to get involved. It was Gatsby’s fathers first time to his son’s house and was proud how what he had done, and was very impressed. At Gatsby’s funeral the only people who went were Nick, the priest, Mr. Gatz, and owl-eyes. Nick then talks to Jordan and she talks about how he screwed her over and was rude and she then told him that she was engaged to another man. Nick then ran into Tom and figured out why Tom told Wilson what he did. Nick wasn’t nice to Tom and thought less of him and Daisy, the thought they left people to clean up the mess they made.
